Sentinel nodes were more likely to contain metastases, if they were present, and occult metastases deeper in paraffin blocks were more likely to be identified in SLNs than non-SLNs. The sentinel node biopsy technique for breast cancer rapidly diffused throughout the surgical community. ![]() This new technique complemented sentinel node biopsy research using vital blue dyes that was being investigated particularly in melanoma but also in breast cancer. 1 This made it possible to identify the location of the sentinel node before skin incision and use the probe to guide surgery. In 1993 a pilot series of sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsies in breast cancer patients was published where the SLN was identified using a hand held gamma probe after injection of a radioisotope tracer around the breast tumor. If we ultimately adopt more comprehensive microscopic evaluation of SLNs, the candidate sampling strategies need to be carefully considered in the context of statistically valid sampling strategies. It is critical that both clinicians and pathologists understand there is a random component to micrometastasis distribution within the three-dimensional paraffin tissue blocks. In the context of the new molecular classification of breast cancer, subgroups may be identified where detection of micrometastases has clinical significance. The prognostic significance of these missed micrometastases is still being evaluated as we await SLN outcome studies. A single section from blocks prepared in this manner will identify all macrometastases present but smaller metastases will be missed. The most important aspect of the sentinel node examination is careful attention to slicing the SLN no thicker than 2.0 mm and correct embedding of the slices to assure we identify all macrometastases larger than 2.0 mm. What is needed is adherence to a standardized evaluation protocol. Despite recommendations from the College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Clinical Oncology, heterogeneity in the approach to SLN evaluation exists. It is quite clear that the more sections we evaluate from SLNs the more metastases we identify however, it is impractical to expect the practicing pathologist to mount, stain, and microscopically examine every section through the SLN paraffin blocks. As a result, our nodal classification and cancer staging have evolved to recognize the continuum of nodal tumor burden rather than a simplistic dichotomous stratification. ![]() National data show that many women previously classified node negative are now classified minimally node positive. The limited number of SLNs compared with an axillary dissection has prompted more comprehensive lymph node analysis increasing detection of micrometastases. Sentinel lymph nodes (SLN) are more likely to contain metastatic breast carcinoma than non-SLNs. ![]() Unless you have specific recipes that have been formulated by a veterinary nutritionist, commercial diets should be considered, particularly for puppies up to 12 months of age. Surprising FactĮven in death, Seuss’ (who was also known as Theodor Seuss Geisel) work enjoys enduring and lucrative popularity, with the author ranking second on Forbes’ highest-paid dead celebrity list of 2020 (after singer Michael Jackson). In media and literature, this includes work like “ Gone With The Wind,” which last year was temporarily removed from streaming service HBO Max and reinstated with a historical context disclaimer, and brand names like Mars Inc.’s Uncle Ben’s (now ‘Ben’s Original’), Eskimo Pie and Pepsico’s Aunt Jemima pancake mix (now the Pearl Milling Company) that have reassessed their packaging and branding to rely less on dated and racist tropes. The decision to stop publishing several Seuss books-which have long been criticized for their racial undertones-fits within a broader movement reckoning with the continued use of racist and insensitive material in modern society, following the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement last year. If you already own a Logitech G502, you don't have to run right out and pick this one up. But there's nothing wrong with a slight refinement of an excellent concept. It comes from a long line of excellent gaming mice, produced by one of the premier manufacturers on the market. ![]() It's perhaps not shocking that the Logitech G502 X Lightspeed is a great product. Logitech G502 X Lightspeed review: Verdict At 3.6 ounces, the G502 X Lightspeed isn't incredibly light, so esports competitors may not gravitate toward it, though. Since it has so many programmable buttons, MMO aficionados should be taken care of since those extra buttons are unobtrusive, real-time strategy (RTS) and multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) players shouldn't have any trouble. Normally I'd give some kind of caveat about genres the mouse doesn't handle well here, but I can't think of any offhand. The extra buttons also came in handy without crowding my fingers. Whether I was sprinting through a burning building in Cyberpunk or recruiting a party to tackle a dungeon in FFXIV, the mouse parsed my commands quickly and accurately. In Doom Eternal, it helped me take accurate aim at demons. In Age of Empires, the G502 X Lightspeed helped me whiz around the map, assigning tasks and scoping out enemy positions as I went. I tested the Logitech G502 X Lightspeed with Age of Empires IV, Doom Eternal, Cyberpunk 2077 and Final Fantasy XIV, and loved the way it handled each game. Logitech G502 X Lightspeed review: Performance Assuming you use the mouse for about eight hours a day, you could get 17 days of use with the lighting turned off, and perhaps 10 days with the lighting turned on. Our testing bore this out on the Lightspeed model, although the Plus model drained the battery quite a bit faster, at least with the RGB lighting turned on. Of more interest is the battery life, which Logitech estimates at 140 hours in the Lightspeed, and 130 hours in the Plus. However, once it's activated, it works fine, and saves you a USB slot in the process. I wasn't thrilled that the option to do so was buried deep within G Hub's general settings menu, rather than on the page for either the mouse or the keyboard. The G502 X Lightspeed dongle also pulls a neat trick, as you can pair it with the mouse and a Logitech G keyboard, such as the Logitech G915, simultaneously. ![]() In summary both somewhat disappointing devices. (2) Full discharge of the Monster PowerCard Turbo Portable could only charge an iPad form 1% to 32% before being spent. Which kind of defeats the point of charge on the move. (1) They do not come with iPhone comparability meaning the user has to carry an iPhone cable around to use it. However there are two key details that let down both the Monster Mobile PowerCard and Monster PowerCard Turbo Portable. ![]() Initial testing of both the Monster Mobile PowerCard and Monster PowerCard Turbo Portable were positive, with a rapid discharge of charge and great pace to smart phone refuelling. As for the Monster PowerCard Turbo Portable, boasting 13mm thick dimensions it's more of a handbag staple than a pocket or wallet accessory, however does offer a heavier duty charge. However I only carry a credit card holder. The Monster Mobile PowerCard lays claim to being slim enough to fit into any wallet. With a sleek brushed steel exterior and palm sized design in both the Monster Mobile PowerCard and Monster PowerCard Turbo Portable, both mobile charging devices have a stylish look and great production values. My review of the Monster Mobile PowerCard and Monster PowerCard Turbo Portable:Īs a heavy mobile smart phone user, and regular festival goer where I can find myself away from mains charging for up to 72 hours, the Monster Mobile PowerCard and Monster PowerCard Turbo Portable both present as great solutions to the age old problem no charge, no charger.
